While practicing the Japanese writing system, I ate up a lot of scrap paper. I decided to look for alternatives.
I created a sand box to write characters in, however, I found that the sand doesn’t hold the shape of the characters well. It’s also a mess to clean.
It then struck me to use a dry erase board. I purchased a small 12 × 12 tile board for just over $10 that comes with a marker and eraser. The dry erase board works wonderfully—I don’t feel like I’m wasting paper.
While I’ve been unable to find my particular dry erase board online, I found a favorably reviewed kit on Amazon that should work well for the purpose.
