Located in Rensselaerville, NY, southwest of Albany, the Edmund Niles Huyck Preserve and Biological Research Station contains a network of hiking trails within wilderness undisturbed since the late 1800’s.
Over seven miles of loop trails circle Lake Myosotis, Lincoln Pond, Rensselaerville Falls, both natural and man-made dams, and the surrounding watershed within the 2000 acre preserve. The half mile Rensselaerville Falls trail is relatively easy going, with little elevation gain and few obstacles. The Lake Myosotis trail and other trails further in the preserve can be muddy, and rocky at portions. The west portion of the Lake Myosotis trail crosses a small stream; the hiker must traverse wet rocks or wade in ankle deep water.
